«Le rendez-vous»: Louise, eighteen years old, waits in a café near the Sorbonne for her mother, Alice, who is late. As the hours pass, she recalls her childhood with a woman who was a cover model and sank into drugs, excess and prison. The wait becomes a reckoning of love, rage and absence.
Subtitled «roman», it was Justine Lévy's first novel, published in 1995 and winner of the Prix Contrepoint in 1996.
For readers of literary fiction interested in contemporary French narrative and in mother-daughter relationships.
