«Le concours de beauté» is the picture book by Urial, with illustrations by Bruno Liance, published by Gallimard Jeunesse Giboulées in paperback.
In Africa, a boy admires a giraffe and calls her beautiful. Flattered, the giraffe organizes a beauty contest convinced she will be queen; the other animals prepare with absurd ideas: a crocodile in high heels, a lion on a carrot diet, and a rhinoceros stretching its skin. A humorous story about beauty, vanity, and self-esteem.
The paperback edition has 32 pages, with text in French; it was published on 28 October 2021.
For children aged 3 to 5; suitable for reading aloud.
