«Las pasiones del alma» is the philosophical essay by René Descartes, published by Edaf in paperback (224 pages, in Spanish).
The last work Descartes published in his lifetime, written at the request of Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia. It addresses the relationship between the soul and the body, and explains the passions from a physical, not moral, perspective in three parts: the passions in general, the six primitive passions, and the rest. The journey goes from human physiology to morality, within the framework of the union of soul and body.
The text is translated from French by Tomas Onaindia Gascón and includes a prologue by Agustín Izquierdo.
Recommended for philosophy students and readers interested in modern thought and in Descartes' late work.

René Descartes was a French philosopher, scientist, logician, and mathematician, widely considered a seminal figure in the emergence of modern philosophy and science during the Renaissance era. Mathematics was paramount to his method of inquiry, and he connected the previously separate fields of geometry and algebra into analytic geometry.
