«L'arbre dels desigs» is the children's novel by Katherine Applegate, published by Pagès editors in paperback (218 pages, in Catalan).
The protagonist is Roig, a centenary oak that has seen generations pass; in its branches, neighbors hang wishes written on pieces of cloth. When a new family arrives in the neighborhood and meets with suspicion, Roig decides to use his experience to get the community to welcome them and to make everyone's wishes truly come true.
The work was originally published in English as «Wishtree»; this Catalan edition includes illustrations by Anna Clariana and translation by Anna Llisterri. It is number 8 in the Nandibú collection.
The work is intended for child and young readers aged 10 and up and addresses friendship, tolerance, and coexistence.
