«La señorita Goldie» is the novel by José Ferrater Mora published by Seix Barral in paperback (194 pages, in Spanish).
Goldie, an intelligent fifteen-year-old orphan, becomes the center of a party organized by her adoptive family in Coronapais, an American country as imaginary as it is real. Between celebrations and appearances, the novel unfolds a plot of silences and complicities around the young woman, with an ironic gaze on social pretentiousness and a mordant critique of her surroundings.
The novel was published in 1991 in Barcelona, within the Biblioteca Breve collection, as a first edition.
A work of contemporary fiction aimed at general readers and also at the university sphere.
