«La meitat de l'ànima» is the contemporary novel by Carme Riera, published by labutxaca in paperback (240 pages, in Catalan).
The narrator receives some papers that cast doubt on her origins and reveal that her identity is false. Investigating her background leads her to the disappearance of Cecília Balaguer in Portbou in January 1960, and to ask readers for help in clarifying what the woman was doing there, who she was waiting for, and who she was supposed to meet.
Work awarded the Premi Sant Jordi 2003 and the Premi de Narrativa Maria Àngels Anglada 2005.
