«La Fundación» is the play by Antonio Buero Vallejo, published by Austral in paperback (256 pages, in Spanish).
A man believes he is installed in a comfortable foundation with his companions, but that image is revealed as an imaginary construction: in reality they are in a prison. The play poses a clash between reality and fiction that resolves in favor of truth, and turns confinement into a fable about society.
Originally published in 1974, this edition belongs to the Contemporánea collection (no. 114) and includes an introduction and reading guide by Javier Díez de Revenga.
High school reading in Catalonia, Aragon and Galicia; suitable for students and for those who want to discover Spanish theatre.
