«La Fundación» is the play by Antonio Buero Vallejo, published by Planeta in paperback (304 pages, in Spanish).
A group of political prisoners seems to be installed in a comfortable foundation, but that appearance cracks when the protagonist begins to perceive that the setting is in reality a prison. The play poses a clash between reality and fiction and reflects on freedom, truth and resistance against oppression.
The play was originally published in 1974; this Austral Educación edition includes a preliminary study and work proposals by Raquel Velázquez.
A common reading in secondary education and in university entrance exams in several autonomous communities; a key piece of contemporary Spanish theatre.
Antonio Buero Vallejo was a Spanish playwright associated with the Generation of '36 movement and considered the most important Spanish dramatist of the Spanish Civil War.
