«La fiesta de Ralph» is Lisa Jewell's romantic novel, published in 2001 by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (413 pages, in Spanish).
Ralph and Smith share a flat in a London building and look for a third flatmate to keep things from getting tense. Jem's arrival entangles the neighbours' desires: Ralph wants to be with her, but Jem dates Smith, and Smith pines for Cheri, who has encounters with Karl. Ralph decides to invite them all to a party to sort it out.
It is the first instalment in the Ralph's Party series. The translation from the original English is by María Antonia Menini.
It fits with chick lit and contemporary romance; the plot of romantic entanglements among neighbours makes it suitable for reading clubs.
