«Karl Popper» is the political philosophy essay by Phil Parvin, published by Bloomsbury Academic in paperback (184 pages, in English).
This work examines the figure of Karl Popper and his relationship with the conservative and libertarian traditions of the twentieth century, with attention to his philosophy of science, his critique of historicism, and his defence of the open society. It also stresses that his politics, close to social democracy, cannot be labelled without nuance as conservative or libertarian.
This title, published in 2013, is volume number 14 of the series Major Conservative and Libertarian Thinkers, edited by John Meadowcroft.
Aimed at university students and readers with an interest in political philosophy and the history of ideas.
