«I giovedì della signora Giulia» is the crime novel by Piero Chiara, published by Mondadori in paperback (140 pages, in Italian).
Signora Giulia, wife of a lawyer, disappears on a Thursday, the day she used to travel to Milan to see her daughter. Inspector Sciancalepre investigates what the town takes for a love affair and suspects something more serious. Chiara combines crime intrigue with an ironic look at provincial bourgeoisie and the Italian judicial world.
This edition is from 1998; the work was originally published in 1970 and belongs to Mondadori's Oscar scrittori moderni collection (no. 133).
For readers of classic crime fiction and twentieth-century Italian literature, interested in disappearances and portraits of provincial Italy.
