In this first volume of his memoirs, Jordi Pujol narrates his political experience from his years of anti-Franco activism to becoming one of the most important politicians in Spain. In a story written with nerve and passion, Pujol evokes family ties, war, studies, readings and teachers, and continues with clandestine militancy, the war council, prison, participation in business and cultural life and the leap towards political hegemony. Historia de una convicción reveals in this way the deep keys of the authentic statesman that Jordi Pujol has been.
