In Seville at the end of the 16th century, a terrible epidemic devastates the city, with the people blaming the relaxed customs of the ecclesiastics. Amidst this tragedy, a strange event occurs in the Monastery of Santa Águeda, the noblest in the city. The Hispalense Church tries to hide it, but the news reaches the Inquisition, whose Inquisitor General decides to move to Seville to investigate and preside over a possible Auto de Fe. The satanic appearance in the Monastery advises it.
