«Harry the Dirty Dog» is the illustrated children's story by Gene Zion, published by HarperCollins in paperback (32 pages, in English).
Harry, a white dog with black spots, enjoys everything except baths. One day, before bath time, he runs away from home and plays outdoors until he is covered in dirt, tar, and coal. When he returns, he is so dirty that he looks like a black dog with white spots, and his family doesn't recognize him.
The illustrations are by Margaret Bloy Graham and the book belongs to the «Harry the Dog» series, which includes other adventures of the character.
Suitable for children aged 4 to 8, especially those who enjoy a dog's antics and funny stories.
Eugene Zion was an American author of picture books.
