«Grúas asesinas» is the contemporary fiction novel by Antonio Martínez, published by Seix Barral in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
Don Lorenzo has built his empire on bribes and scams; when an unforeseen event leads him to kill, he hires a scatterbrained detective to cover it up. The arrival of his daughter La Nena and her boyfriend El Gorila, a reality show figure, complicates things. The novel, narrated as a fake report, crosses testimonies that contradict each other with acid humor.
It is Antonio Martínez's second novel, published on April 2, 2009. The subtitle is «El caso de El Gorila y La Nena al descubierto».
For readers who enjoy irreverent humor and social satire, in the vein of Woody Allen's or Monty Python's mockumentary.
