«Galván en Saor» is the novel by Darío Xohán Cabana, published by Edicións Xerais de Galicia in 1993 in paperback (135 pages, in Galician).
Galván, lord of the northern lands and companion of Arthur in Brittany, embarks on a journey that crosses geography and time, like Cunqueiro's Merlin. A novel of humour, love, adventure and tenderness, it is a homage to chivalric and medieval narrative, with agile language and lyrical images that never overshadow the story.
It won the Xerais Novel Prize in 1989 and is part of the Narrativa collection from Edicións Xerais de Galicia.
For readers of fantasy and medievalist fiction, and for those who want to approach contemporary Galician literature.
Galician writer and translator (1952–2021)
