«Frida» is Jonah Winter's illustrated book about Frida Kahlo, published by Alfaguara in hardback (32 pages, in Spanish).
It tells how Frida Kahlo learned to paint and how art became her refuge. The narrative blends imagination and real facts: she was born in Mexico in 1907 and developed a distinctive vision that makes her work unmistakable. It is an approach to her childhood and creative process.
The original English edition appeared in 2002; this Spanish version was published in 2003.
Suitable for children and young readers, and for those seeking a first introduction to the figure of the Mexican painter.
