«Els sots feréstecs» is the modernist novel by Raimon Casellas, published by Edicions de 1984 in paperback (171 pages, in Catalan).
Considered the first Catalan modernist novel, it combines European symbolism and decadentism with the social and political crisis at the turn of the century and the rise of Catalanism. It addresses the failure of the intellectual who seeks to regenerate society and advocates a return to the individual's roots, their will and their actions as a path to collective progress.
The work was originally published in volume form in March 1901. This is the first edition, edited by Jordi Castellanos, and belongs to the Mirmanda series (no. 8).
