«El último gran amor» is the romance novel by Pearl S. Buck, published by Luis de Caralt in hardback (240 pages, in Spanish).
After being widowed, Edith Chardmann tries to resume a quiet life in Vermont, between reading and music. Her peace is broken when two very different men appear: Edwin, a philosopher thirty years older, and Jared, a young scientist twenty years younger. The novel explores desire, maturity, and the difficulty of choosing between two loves.
The novel was originally published as «The Goddess Abides» in 1972; this Spanish edition is from 1974.
Recommended for readers of romance novels and twentieth-century classic fiction.
