«El Poeta Aburrido» is the sainete by Ramón de la Cruz, published by Culturea in 2023 in paperback (24 pages, in Spanish).
A group of characters awaits the arrival of the poet who is to bring the sainetes for a party. Faced with his delay and the absence of the company, the women protest at having risen early while the men sleep at their leisure. The dialogue reflects with irony the customs and relationships among those present.
Recommended for readers of Spanish literary classics who wish to enjoy a brief eighteenth-century theatrical piece.
Ramón de la Cruz was a Spanish neoclassical dramatist.
