«El niño bisiesto» is the children's novel by José Luis Alonso de Santos, published by Kalandraka in hardback (104 pages, in Spanish).
Daniel, a ten-year-old boy born on 29 February, is nicknamed «Bisiesto». He narrates in the first person his daily experiences, which become complicated in unheard-of and dangerous situations resolved with ingenuity and humour. Rebellion and incomprehension coexist with the awakening of love and friendship, with nods to cinema and the classics.
It belongs to the Siete leguas collection from Kalandraka, features 14 illustrations by Federico Delicado and was first published in 2015.
Recommended reading for children aged 6 to 7, within children's and young adult literature.
