«El deseo insensato de tener un gato» is an illustrated children's story by Ricardo Gómez Gil, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (48 pages, in Spanish).
A boy who dreams of having a cat presents his mother with every possible argument to prove that a feline is a reasonable pet: he is not asking for a snake or an exotic animal, just a companion. His persistence, told with humour, clashes with his mother's refusal, and the story follows his protests to an ending that encourages a new reading.
It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Azul collection and is recommended for readers aged 6 to 8. Spanish edition published on 21 September 2017.
For boys and girls aged 6 to 8 who enjoy animal stories, humour and everyday situations about pets and family.
