«Las aventuras del Capitán Calzoncillos» is Dav Pilkey's humorous children's novel, published by Ediciones SM in paperback (136 pages, in Spanish).
Jorge and Berto, two inseparable friends, create comics about Captain Underpants, a superhero with elastic powers. When the school principal punishes them, they hypnotise him as a joke and Mr. Carrasquilla ends up believing he is the hero. With every snap he transforms, and the evil Doctor Pañal complicates the adventure.
First instalment of the Captain Underpants series, published in the El Barco de Vapor Azul collection. Translation by Miguel Azaola; original title: The Adventures of Captain Underpants.
Recommended for boys and girls aged 7 and up who enjoy humour, superheroes and school-life stories.
