«El caso de Cristof» is the young adult novel by Irina Korschunow, published by Salvat Alfaguara in paperback (126 pages, in Spanish).
The story begins with the funeral of Cristof, a 17-year-old who died in a bicycle accident. Martin, his best friend, and Ulrike, who was in love with him, attend the ceremony; the teachers' speeches strike them as hypocritical. In the following days, Martin reflects on life, death, and friendship.
Published in 1987, it is part of the Biblioteca Juvenil collection as number 52. Translation by Mario García Aldonate; original title: Die Sache mit Christoph.
A novel suitable for young readers, as it addresses friendship and loss from a teenager's perspective.
