«El asesino ético» is the thriller novel by David Liss, published by Grijalbo Mondadori in paperback (432 pages, in Spanish).
Lem Altick, an encyclopedia salesman, witnesses a murder and becomes implicated. To save himself, he gets drawn into a web of corruption and animal trafficking, alongside a cultured, animal-rights assassin waging his own crusade against injustice. It poses a moral dilemma: is someone who kills unscrupulous criminals a murderer?
Translated by Encarna Quijada, the original novel The Ethical Assassin appeared in 2006 in the Grijalbo Intriga collection. David Liss won the Edgar Award 2000 for A Conspiracy of Paper.
For thriller readers, with a cynical view of social justice and morally ambiguous characters.

Liss received his BA degree from Syracuse University, an MA from Georgia State University and his M. Phil from Columbia University. He left his post-graduate studies of 18th Century British literature and unfinished dissertation to write full-time. "If things had not worked out with fiction, I probably would have kept to my graduate school career track and sought a job as a literature professor," he said. A full-time writer since 2010, Liss lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and children.
