«El amante de lady Chatterley» is the romantic novel by D. H. Lawrence, published by RBA in hardback (317 pages, in Spanish).
Constance, married to an upper-class man left paraplegic by a war wound, lives a cold and loveless marriage; her frustration leads her to begin a relationship with Oliver Mellors, the gamekeeper, a working-class man. The novel caused scandal and was banned in its time for its explicit sexual scenes.
Originally published in 1928 as Lady Chatterley's Lover, this edition is part of the Historia de la Literatura collection.
For readers of 20th-century literary classics seeking a novel about desire, marriage, and class differences.
David Herbert Lawrence was an English novelist, short story writer, poet, playwright, literary critic, travel writer, essayist, and painter. His modernist works reflect on modernity, social alienation and industrialisation, while championing sexuality, vitality and instinct. Four of his most famous novels – Sons and Lovers (1913), The Rainbow (1915), Women in Love (1920), and Lady Chatterley's Lover (1928) – were the subject of censorship trials for their radical portrayals of romance, sexuality, and use of explicit language.
