«Demob» is the novel by Kenneth Harper, Dean Lemmon and Andrew Montgomery, published by Chrysalis Books in paperback (192 pages, in English).
In 1946, two British soldiers, Ian Deasey and Richard Dobson, return from the war to an England they barely recognise. Tired of civilian life, they try to make it in show business, from Soho clubs and jazz venues to the BBC. With a humorous tone, the novel follows their lives, loves and low points.
Kenneth Harper adapted for this novel the original screenplay by Dean Lemmon and Andrew Montgomery; it is based on the Talkback/YTV television series and was published in 1993.
