«Cuentos morales» is a collection of twenty-eight stories by Leopoldo Alas Clarín, published by Bígaro in paperback (200 pages, in Spanish).
The volume brings together twenty-eight stories focused on the characters' inner conscience: the psychology of intentional actions and free conduct weigh more than external description or plot twists. In the prologue, Clarín justifies the title because these stories attend to the thought, feeling, and will of the inner man.
This 1997 Bígaro edition is part of the Trazos collection, number 2; the back cover includes a biographical note on Leopoldo Alas Clarín.
For readers of Spanish classics and short fiction who want to discover Clarín as a short-story writer.

Leopoldo Enrique García-Alas y Ureña, also known as Clarín, was a Spanish realist novelist and journalist born in Zamora. His inflammatory articles, known as paliques (“chitchat”), as well as his advocacy of liberalism and anti-clericalism, made him a formidable and controversial critical voice. He died in Oviedo.
