«Contra el viento del norte» is the contemporary romance novel by Daniel Glattauer, published by Punto de Lectura in paperback (272 pages, in Spanish).
A love story told almost entirely through emails. Leo Leike mistakenly receives a message from Emmi, a stranger, and their exchange of replies becomes a complicit dialogue charged with tension. The idea of meeting in person both seduces and paralyses them: they fear that feelings forged on screen will not survive a real encounter.
First instalment of the «Gut gegen Nordwind» series; the work was originally published in German in 2006 and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize.
For readers of contemporary romantic fiction aged 16 and over interested in relationships forged in the digital age.
