«Alberto y las palomas mensajeras» is the children's novel by Anna Vila, published by Anaya Infantil y Juvenil in paperback (168 pages, in Spanish).
Alberto, about to turn ten, only wants a mobile phone, but his grandfather gives him two carrier pigeon eggs. Although the gift disappoints him, he must look after them and train the birds. Caring for the chicks eventually sparks his interest, and he learns that there are more valuable experiences than a phone.
Published in 2008, it belongs to Anaya's Sopa de Libros collection, where it is number 130. Translated from Catalan by Feliu Formosa; illustrations by Jordi Vila Delclòs.
Recommended for child and young readers aged 10 and up, especially for those who enjoy stories about animals and nature.
