«A Fórmula da Saudade» is the romantic novel by Daniel Oliveira, published by Oficina do Livro in paperback (248 pages, in Portuguese).
Television presenter Camila Vaz flees Portugal after the scandal over her book «A Persistência da Memoria». Years later, in a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, a journalist interviews her, and that conversation revives forgotten secrets and desires. The encounter leads to the story of her grandparents, Zulmira and Joaquim, who meet in 1950s Lisbon and are separated when he is posted to the Portuguese colonies in India, where his mission ends in tragedy.
