«Barnabé» is a collection of articles by André Belo, Celso Martins, Daniel Oliveira, Rui Tavares and Pedro Oliveira, in paperback (280 pp., in Portuguese).
It collects posts from the Portuguese blog Barnabé, created by its own authors, a space for debate on politics and culture that declared itself secular, republican and fond of controversy. Its short texts mix humour and criticism with an openly politicised register; the edition adds press reactions to the blog phenomenon.
Published by Oficina do Livro in 2004. The cover, with a yellow background and red and black typography, proclaims 'O blogue que a direita detesta' and 'O mais lido: 1 milhão de visitas na net'.
For readers interested in Portuguese politics and culture, and in the phenomenon of blogs as a space for debate in the 2000s.
