Norman Richard Spinrad is an American science fiction author, essayist, and critic. His fiction has won the Prix Apollo and been nominated for numerous awards, including the Hugo Award and multiple Nebula Awards.

Born in the Bronx in 1940, Norman Spinrad has established himself as an undisputed icon of science fiction.

His acclaimed novel Bug Jack Barron was nominated for both the Hugo and Nebula Awards.

Beyond his novels, he has left his mark on television by writing scripts for the original Star Trek series.

His prolific career spans over twenty novels that have been translated into more than a dozen languages.

The author was a National Book Award finalist for his short fiction collection, The Star-Spangled Future.
