Biography

Spanish historian, palaeographer and catholic priest

José García Oro was a prominent Spanish historian and paleographer whose life was deeply linked to academic research.

As a Catholic priest, he dedicated much of his intellectual work to delving into the history of the Church.

His most recognized work, El cardenal Cisneros, is a fundamental reference for understanding this key figure in Spanish history.

Throughout his career, he published 16 works that rigorously explore the history of Galicia and the ecclesiastical sphere.

Born in Goyás, his legacy combines the precision of a paleographer with the depth of a theologian and literature specialist.
