Emilio Castelar y Ripoll was a Spanish republican politician, and a president of the First Spanish Republic.

Emilio Castelar was a key figure who served as the president of the First Spanish Republic.

Born in Cádiz in 1832, he stood out as one of the most versatile minds of his time by combining politics with literature.
