Edwin Abbott Abbott was an English schoolmaster, theologian, and Anglican priest, best known as the author of the novella Flatland (1884).

Edwin Abbott Abbott was a multifaceted British author, theologian, and headmaster.

His most famous work, Flatland, is an ingenious mathematical satire and religious allegory.

He published his most renowned novel under the curious pseudonym A. Square.

Throughout his life, he wrote a total of 77 works on topics as diverse as the Bible and philology.
