«Wer wir waren» (Zukunftsrede) is the philosophical essay by Roger Willemsen, published by S. Fischer Verlag in hardback (59 pages, in German).
In this «Zukunftsrede» (speech about the future), Roger Willemsen analyses the shortcomings of the present and asks the next generation not to settle for what has been inherited. Faced with an era saturated with information but poor in knowledge, the author invites us to slow down and recover a deeper understanding of life.
The volume reproduces the speech given by Roger Willemsen on 24 July 2015, his last public appearance.
For readers of essays and philosophy interested in the critique of the age and the legacy we leave to future generations.
