«Visiones del desarrollo en América Latina» is the economic essay by José Luis Machinea and Narcís Serra, in paperback, published by Bellaterra (556 pages).
The book starts from a diagnosis: the macroeconomic stability achieved after the reforms of the 1980s did not translate into sufficient development. The texts analyse the economic and social policies applied in the region and propose paths towards more sustained growth that helps overcome poverty and inequality.
It compiles the papers from the seminar 'Una nueva agenda de desarrollo económico para América Latina', held in Salamanca in October 2005 by the CIDOB Foundation, with participation from ECLAC.
For those interested in development economics and public policy in Latin America.
