In "Viejas historias de Castilla la Vieja", Miguel Delibes presents a collection of prints that capture the essence of Castilian rural life at the beginning of the 20th century. Through the eyes of an emigrant who returns to his village, Delibes explores the duality of this world: stagnation, routine and poverty contrast with rootedness, community relations and connection with the land. The volume is completed with «La caza de la perdiz roja», a dialogue between an old partridge hunter and the author, who reflects on hunting activity.
