«Vida de este chico» is the autobiography of Tobias Wolff, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardback (332 pages, in Spanish).
Tobias Wolff recalls his childhood and adolescence in the fifties and sixties: the constant moves with his mother, the bond between them, and the difficult coexistence with a hostile stepfather. To forge an identity, Toby fantasizes about fleeing to Alaska, forges cheques and steals cars, until an act of reinvention.
Memoir originally published in 1989 under the title This Boy's Life: A Memoir. It won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and the Ambassador Book Award.
A read for those who enjoy memoirs and coming-of-age stories, and for book clubs interested in American autobiographical narrative.
