"Vestigios de Babel: Para una arqueología de los nacionalismos españoles" is an essay by Jon Juaristi that explores the formation of the theory of primitive Spain and its influence on the historiography of the Ancient Regime. The author demonstrates how the creation of the myth of the original Spain in the Renaissance is intrinsically linked to the emergence of Basque particularism and its corresponding identity. This book offers a deep reflection on the origins of the homeland and nationalist ideologies in Spain.
