«Up in the Air (En el aire)» is the contemporary fiction novel by Walter Kirn, published by SUMA in paperback (328 pages, in Spanish).
The novel follows Ryan Bingham, a consultant who constantly travels to deliver layoff news and convince those affected to see it as an opportunity. The novel was originally published in 2001; this Spanish edition appeared in January 2010. It is the work on which the film of the same name by the director of Juno and Thank You for Smoking is based.
