In 'An African Lady', Erik Orsenna introduces us to Marguerite Bâ, a woman from Mali who, faced with the denial of a visa to search for her missing grandson in France, decides to address the French president directly. Through her story, the novel takes us into contemporary Africa, showing both its challenges and the richness of its human bonds. With a direct and uncomplacent prose, Orsenna invites us to reflect on the complexity of the African world and the reality of emigration.
