«Una cara manllevada» is the novel by Gabriel Galmés, published by Quaderns Crema in paperback (225 pages, in Catalan).
Characters from Gabriel Galmés's first novel, El rei de la casa, reappear at thirty-five: Titus Palmer returns from Brussels and Annabel Artigas, his secret love, has married Xim Valls. The bewilderment of a lawyer and the fatuousness of a supposed success story sketch the difficulty of maturing and the loss of reference points.
Part of the Biblioteca mínima series (number 90). First edition published in Barcelona in 2000.
For readers of twentieth-century Catalan fiction and for those who already know the author's first novel, El rei de la casa.
