«Un cadeau pour le Père Noël» is a children's story by Jacques Vénuleth, published by Hachette in paperback (94 pages, in French).
In a big department store, everyone laughs at a Santa Claus who is actually a vagrant. Only Cyril, a child, finds no humour in the scene: his sister has endangered the man's job and, without the costume, he will be left with nothing. Cyril feels responsible and decides to make a gesture of friendship, even if clumsy.
Published in 1996; the cover indicates the Cadeaux collection.
Suitable for children aged 3 to 5, especially as Christmas reading about empathy and solidarity.
