«Uiplala» is the children's novel by Annie M.G. Schmidt published by Noguer in 1990, in paperback, with 136 pages in Spanish.
One day a tiny creature called Uiplalá comes out of a kitchen cupboard in the Blom family's home. Despite its size, it has the power to turn people and animals to stone, but it often forgets the formula to restore them to normal. This absent-mindedness drags the children of the house into wild and not entirely safe adventures.
«Uiplala» is the first instalment of the Wiplala series; the original title «Wiplala» appeared in 1957. The back cover of this edition features the collection «Mundo Mágico».
Aimed at child and young adult readers, especially those who enjoy fantasy stories with tiny characters endowed with magical powers.

Anna Maria Geertruida "Annie" Schmidt was a Dutch writer. She is called the mother of the Dutch theatrical song, and the queen of Dutch children's literature, praised for her "delicious Dutch idiom," and considered one of the greatest Dutch writers. An ultimate honour was extended to her posthumously, in 2007, when a group of Dutch historians compiled the "Canon of the Netherlands" and included Schmidt, alongside national icons such as Vincent van Gogh and Anne Frank.
