«Txoriburu, cabeza de chorlito» is Asun Balzola's memoir novel, published in hardback by Ediciones Destino (149 pages, in Spanish).
Asun Balzola recalls her childhood in Bilbao in the late 1940s, within the bourgeoisie. Through a girl's gaze, the seemingly innocent narrative hints at the wound of the civil war and the harshness of the subsequent repression.
The work is part of the Isla del Tiempo collection from Ediciones Destino, as the fourth volume; it went on sale in May 1998.
For readers interested in historical memory, autobiographical literature and post-war narrative.
