«Trois vies de saints» is a collection of three stories by Eduardo Mendoza, published by Points in paperback (216 pages, in French).
Three characters who, without being saints, devote themselves entirely to an idea: a bishop stays with a Catalan family during a coup d'état; a son returns from Africa to collect a prize on behalf of his deceased mother; a prisoner discovers literature and becomes a successful author. Mendoza combines humour, tenderness and social criticism.
Translation from Spanish by François Maspero; the original work was published in 2009.
For readers of short fiction with humour and social criticism, especially those who enjoy translated Spanish narrative.

Eduardo Mendoza Garriga is a Spanish novelist, playwright, and essayist.
