«Tristan et Iseult» is the anonymous medieval legend, edited by René Louis, in a Le Livre de Poche paperback (256 pages, in French).
The legend tells how Tristan brings Iseult the Fair before King Marc, her future husband; on the ship they drink a magic potion that binds them for three years in an indissoluble love. René Louis draws on the twelfth- and thirteenth-century manuscripts and presents an Iseult who drinks the potion willingly and a Tristan surrendered to love before fate.
It is no. 1306 in the Classiques collection from Le Livre de Poche, edition published in 1972.
Suitable for school reading and for those interested in medieval literature and tales of tragic love.
