La novela narra la historia de Carmen Mondragón, una pintora y poeta mexicana conocida como Nahui Olin, una artista excepcional, de enorme carisma y sensualidad. Nacida en México en 1893, vivió en el París de los primeros años del siglo XX, donde conoció a Georges Braque, Henri Matisse o Pablo Picasso. Tras pasar por San Sebastián, se sumergió en la vida artística de México, donde destacó por sus ideas feministas y su actitud provocadora y ecléctica, que la llevaron a interesarse no sólo por la poesía y la filosofía, sino por las matemáticas y las ciencias exactas.

Juan Bonilla is a Spanish writer. He was born in Jerez de la Frontera. He has published several collections of short stories, including Tanta gente sola , and Una manada de ñus(Pre-Textos, 2013). As a novelist, his notable works include Nadie conoce a nadie, which was turned into a successful film by Mateo Gil, and Los príncipes nubios, which won the Premio Biblioteca Breve in 2003. Los príncipes nubios has also been translated into several languages; the French version won the Prix littéraire des Jeunes européens in 2009.
